What does it mean to invest in The Roaring Twenties (TRT)?

Investing in TRT means placing resources in support of Black women’s self-determination, restoration, and capacity to build on our own terms. This is not a transactional exchange. It is an alignment with our mission, values, and long-term vision for collective flourishing.

Is TRT a nonprofit or a 501(c)(3)?

No. The Roaring Twenties, LLC is a private, Black women–owned organization. We are not a nonprofit and do not operate under charitable tax structures. Are contributions tax-deductible?No. Contributions to TRT are not tax-deductible, and we do not provide tax write-offs, donation receipts for charitable purposes, or documentation for tax exemption. We encourage contributors to consult their own tax advisors if they have questions.

Why does TRT use the language of “investment” instead of “donation”?

Because the work we are doing is not charity. Resources given to TRT support infrastructure, innovation, care, and the people stewarding this organization. We believe Black women deserve to be resourced without being framed as causes or deficits.

How are invested funds used?

Funds support the full ecosystem required to sustain this work. This may include programmatic initiatives, care and restoration, research and innovation, operational needs, and the resourcing of the people stewarding TRT. This includes fair compensation, benefits, insurance, professional services, and the conditions necessary for leadership and staff to remain grounded and effective.

Do investors have decision-making power or oversight?

No. Contributions do not confer ownership, voting rights, governance authority, reporting privileges, or influence over how funds are used. Resources are stewarded at the sole discretion of TRT in alignment with our mission and core tenets.

Will I receive updates or reports on how my funds are used?

TRT practices transparency as an internal discipline grounded in trust, not donor management. We may share updates, reflections, or milestones at our discretion, but we do not offer individualized reporting or performance-based accountability tied to contributions.

Can organizations or companies invest in TRT?

Yes, provided they are aligned with our values and understand that contributions are unrestricted, non-controlling, and non-transactional. We do not enter into sponsorships, cause-marketing arrangements, or partnerships that compromise our sovereignty.

Can I restrict my investment to a specific outcome or individual?

No. All investments are unrestricted. While TRT may name areas of focus or campaigns, funds are ultimately stewarded holistically to meet evolving needs.

What if I am looking for a traditional philanthropic relationship?

TRT may not be the right fit. If you are seeking tax deductions, formal reporting structures, donor recognition, or outcome guarantees, another organization may better align with your goals.

What kind of support is TRT looking for?

We welcome support rooted in trust, respect, and belief in Black women’s capacity to build, decide, and thrive. If you are ready to move resources freely and without condition, you are welcome here.
